This week was really good. I didn't get tired towards the end like last week. I'm going to start the 5K maintenance plan this week.
Nice work. You're becoming quite a strong runner.
ReplyDeleteAre you still going to take it easy on the office 5K? You are a good runner, and it never hurts to show off a little. Its kind of like being a good golfer, you could generate a little buzz by popping a good time and finish. You can show off your competitive side, and then hang around the .1 to go mark (or somewhere where the finish line comes into view) and cheer in everyone to show your encouraging side.
When people come to congratulate you, you can give a simple "thanks, I really enjoy the energy of these 5ks. (point to some other bystanders cheering on runners) I love seeing people encourage and cheer for each other."...you know the drill, always be humble, praise the efforts of others, tell them they looked really good out there, talk about the charity that is being supported, etc...
I'm thinking about pacing a coworker to 24:00. I'd really like to run it hard, but realistically it's not worth it. One reason is it is not officially timed. The other is that there are ~15,000 people at this event because it's a corporate networking thing. So, getting to the front takes forever and it's like swimming upstream.
