Everything is still feeling better each day. I'm kicking myself because I forgot that I had compression socks. A lot of my recent progress is because I started wearing them again all the time unless I'm running. Oh well.
There's still a tiny bit of tightness during the day but it works its way out when I walk or run. So after a half mile or so of running everything feels good.
I picked up the new Garmin f620. Kinda pricey, but its really nice.
The f620 looks sweet. I'm glad to see the mileage bumping up without any additional tightness. Hopefully the achilles will continue to heal up.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't get a chance to weigh in last week. I was slammed with work and my final marathon prep. I ran a great first 20 miles, felt easy and smooth, then my hamstrings cramped up. You can read a million stories about hitting the wall or bonking, but the words just don't do it justice. I ended up losing about 10 minutes over the final 5 miles trying to walk and stretch the muscles back out. I'm overall happy with the race, and I have a new appreciation & respect for the distance.
No problem. I assumed you had something important going on. And last week wasn't worth weighing in on anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe -thon is so intimidating. I can't imagine going for that distance and being remotely serious about any finishing time. Next time! What training plan/style were you following?
I'm curious if there's anything interesting that can come out of all the metrics the HR monitor gives the f620. Initially I guess the race predictor could be useful.
The main thing I'm excited about is the workout programming. That's always an issue for me because I forget what a workout is supposed to be and usually do a lighter version that prescribed.
